UEFA Football Law Programme

A great achievement of the Rijeka Faculty of Law in the educational programmes and research has resulted in electing this higher educational institution as a UEFA partner in the UEFA Academy programme, or to be more precise in the performance of the prestigious UEFA Football Law Programme. It is an educational programme in the field of sports law in football and it is designed for legal specialists or senior executives working on legal issues in international and European national associations, football clubs, players’ unions, leagues and law firms. The completion of the programme results in the Certificate of advanced studies (CAS) with 10 ECTS credits issued by Khadir Has University (Turkey).

It comprises four week-long sessions in four different cities and together with Nyon, Switzerland (UEFA headquarters), the host cities with Rijeka will be Lausanne (CAS headquarter), Istanbul and Venice. The session director and the representative of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka will be Assist. Prof. Vanja Smokvina.

With such a prestigiuous role, the Faculty of Law and the University of Rijeka have been elected as one of just ten higher education and scientific institutions in Europe which are partners of UEFA in the performance of some of the ten education programmes within the UEFA Academy along with Université de Lausanne (Switzerland), University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), Birkbeck University of London (UK), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (UK), CDES Université de Limoges (France), INEFC Institut Nacional d'Educació Física de Catalunya (Spain), Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz (Germany), Khadir Has University (Turkey) and Università Ca' Foscari Venezia (Italy).

The support to Rijeka’s session will be given by the Croatian Football Federation and the Football Club Rijeka.
