Protection of the Beneficiary on the Croatian/European Financial Services Market

Project Protection of the Beneficiary on the Croatian/European Financial Services Market, ID: 115-1151212-2498, project head:  Professor Edita Čulinović-Herc, Ph.D., contributes to the level of protection of beneficiaries of financial services in line with European law and with development of an effective monitoring system in the Croatian financial services market.  There are ten team members, four of which are junior researchers. Doctoral dissertations of two junior researchers are part of the project outcomes. More significant project results include three edited books, one of which is a university textbook, 23 chapters in a book, and 44 scientific papers.

Upon the end of funding by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, the project was continued with the funding from the University grants for research (No. 13.08.1.2.01), which continues on projects previously reviewed and funded by the Ministry for the 2014–2016 period. The aim of the continued project is to explore financial services provided by venture capital investors and the regulation of these services at the level of the European Union and Croatia. The project also explores the way that this financial service and related financial services encourage the commercialisation of scientific, i.e. university research, paths of their commercialisation through spin-off and start-up companies, in cooperation with the Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka (Step Ri). The project also analyses the legal aspect and conditions under which this financial service is provided.
