The call for applications for the first generation of participants will be announced in May/June 2026 and will be available on the website of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka.

The programme is delivered entirely online and is tailored to the needs of students who study while working. Enrolled students study with part-time student status. The programme lasts one year (two semesters). In the first semester, students enrol in five compulsory courses, and in the second semester five elective courses. The programme is completed with the successful defence of a final thesis. Upon completion of the programme, graduates are awarded the title Specialist in European Market Law (spec. iur.) and earn 60 ECTS credits. The programme enables vertical and horizontal mobility within the national and European Higher Education Area.

Market law and application of new technologies represent one of the most propulsive and successful areas of activity of the European Union, and this is the first such specialist study programme in Croatia with a targeted education in this area.

The specialised online study program in European market law and new technologies is designed to provide participants with practical, market-relevant knowledge and skills needed to work in a modern legal and business environment. The program focuses on understanding and applying the European regulatory framework in the fields of the digital market, technology, and innovation, with a strong emphasis on addressing real-world legal and business challenges.

Through an interdisciplinary approach and practical case examples, students develop competencies that are highly valued in legal practice, public administration, regulatory bodies, companies, and the technology sector. The aim of the programme is to connect academic knowledge with the needs of the legal profession and the labour market, and to equip professionals to operate effectively in the dynamic field of European law and new technologies.

STUDY PROGRAMME DIRECTORS / CONTACT

Prof. dr. sc.
