Scientific research projects

Over half of a centiury of legal studies in Rijeka, the PRAVRI has been at the forefront of theoretical and applied research on national and international levels. We have demonstrated openness in adapting to everchanging circumstances in which research and education institutions function nowadays, as well as in embracing new competitive financing models. Today, our academic staff consists of leading experts in various subject areas, ranging from consumer protection to protection of persons with mental disorders, from online liability to state liability, from cross-border enforcement of judgments to enforcement of human rights, from financial market regulation to sports industry regulation.

The Faculty continues to attract funding for conducting relevant research and innovation in law and law-related areas. Introduction into studying Italian law

Introduzione allo studio del diritto italiano

Professional course titled Introduction into studying Italian law was launched at the Faculty of Law in Rijeka in 2014. Primarily intended for lawyers and law students, it is also opened to interested members of other professions. Given the fact that it is held in the Italian language, regular interest in attending this course is shown by the students of Italianistics.

Basic objective of this course is to offer an insight into the fundamentals of the Italian legal system and its relation to the European legal system. The organisers’ intention is to enable enhancement of attendees’ professional legal vocabulary in Italian language and present Italian law as part of the right Italian national and European heritage. Lecturers are invited eminent Italian university professors and high-profile experts.

This course’s importance for the wider community has been recognised by the Italian Union, which acts as its supporter since 2016.
