The 4th Petar Šarčević International Scientific Conference, held on April 9–10, 2015, in Rovinj, focused on competition and state aid rules at both the national and European Union levels. The effective enforcement of these rules is a fundamental prerequisite for economic growth and the stability of the EU’s internal market.
While the EU State Aid rules fall under the jurisdiction of the European Commission, competition rules are directly applicable in member states. Ensuring uniform application presents one of the most significant challenges in this area of law. In this context, national bodies responsible for the direct enforcement of EU competition rules, such as the Croatian Competition Agency and commercial courts, play a particularly critical role. For more details, visit the conference website.
