Personal Data Protection

The Faculty of Law in Rijeka processes the personal data of individuals (data subjects) in accordance with the applicable regulations governing the protection of personal data.

The Faculty of Law in Rijeka processes personal data only where there is a clearly established legal basis for doing so, namely a legal obligation, the data subject’s consent, or where such processing is necessary for the performance of its activities.

Categories of Personal Data Collected by the Faculty of Law in Rijeka

  • Personal data of employees;
  • Records of employees’ working hours;
  • Personal data of natural persons who are legal representatives of companies, sole proprietors, or independent professionals with whom the Faculty has a contractual relationship;
  • Personal data of persons referred to in Article 45 (external associates) and Articles 51–55 of the Statute of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka (students);
  • Personal data of applicants participating in recruitment procedures for employment, whether through public competitions, advertisements, or public calls.

Recipients of Personal Data

The Faculty of Law in Rijeka will disclose personal data to other recipients only where required by law or upon a justified request from an authorized public authority.

Rights of Data Subjects

Depending on the purpose of the processing, data subjects have the following rights in accordance with applicable personal data protection regulations:

  • The right of access to personal data;
  • The right to rectification of personal data;
  • The right to erasure of personal data that do not need to be permanently retained, in accordance with applicable legal grounds;
  • The right to restriction of processing, in accordance with applicable legal grounds;
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency).

Requests, complaints, or inquiries relating to the processing and protection of personal data may be submitted via e-mail to: podatci@pravri.uniri.hr.

In accordance with the applicable regulations governing personal data protection, every request or inquiry will be addressed as soon as possible and no later than 30 days from the date of receipt.
