Basic information about the Program
The Professional Undergraduate Study Program in Administration was established in 2005 with the aim of meeting the labor market’s demand for qualified and skilled human resources in state administration bodies, regional and local self-government, judicial bodies, and legal entities with public authority. In line with global trends regarding the special status and specific knowledge, skills, and competencies of civil servants, continuous professional education for public administration employees is proving to be essential.
This study program lasts three years, and on completion graduates receive 180 ECTS credits and acquire the academic title Bachelor of Public Administration (bacc. admin. publ.). Teaching takes place on a semester basis. Each semester lasts 15 weeks and the exams for that semester can be taken immediately after the end of the semester. The exams are facilitated by mid-term exams and various other knowledge assessments conducted during the semester, which encourage students to maintain continuous study. The program is open to both full-time students with a full schedule and part-time students with a flexible schedule. Part-time students attend classes in the afternoon, which is especially convenient for working professionals. In addition, the undergraduate study program features an individualized teaching approach tailored to vulnerable groups (such as students with disabilities, students with other difficulties, and student parents) as well as student athletes.
In addition to acquiring theoretical knowledge and insight into the legal regulation of various administrative sectors, the program is distinguished by its emphasis on practical skills and competencies. These are developed through exercises in compulsory courses, guest lectures by respected practitioners, the provision of free legal aid, study visits to administrative bodies and courts, and problem-based learning based on real-life challenges. By choosing elective courses in the final year of the program and selecting employers for internships, students have the opportunity to specialize at this first level of higher education. Upon graduation, students will be qualified to work in state administration bodies, judicial and other state bodies, municipal, city, and county administrations, legal entities with public authority and public services, non-governmental organizations, etc.
Given that this higher education professional program offers interdisciplinary education in the fields of law, public administration, and economics, it enables graduates to quickly enter the labor market or continue their education in the Professional Graduate Study Program in Public Administration.
