The 9th International Scientific Conference Petar Šarčević will be held on 13 and 14 November 2025 at the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, with the aim of discussing the latest developments in the area of autonomous vehicles and related regulatory issues in Croatia, the European Union and the United States. The conference will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders from government, the private sector, and the academic community.

Participants will engage in critical discussions on legal frameworks, ethical implications, liability questions and the challenges posed by emerging technologies in transportation. Special attention will be given to the harmonization of legal standards, data protection and cybersecurity, cross-border implications, and the role of AI in shaping mobility policy.

The conference will feature keynote lectures by leading international experts, panel discussions and presentations of scientific and policy-oriented research. It aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and contribute to the formulation of informed and balanced regulatory approaches to autonomous driving technologies.

Further details, including the full programme and registration information, will be announced in the coming months.

We warmly invite legal scholars, policymakers, engineers, industry professionals and all interested parties to join us in Rijeka for what promises to be a stimulating and forward-looking event.

The conference is co-organised by the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, UNIRI Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity – AIRI Trustworthy and Explainable AI Lab, Croatian Comparative Law Association and RAND, and contact is possible at ivana.kunda@uniri.hr.
