Department of Theory of Law and State, Philosophy of Law, Human Rights and Public Law

The scientific pursuits of Department members encompass a wide array of areas, including the theory of law and state, philosophy and methodology of law, comparative law, and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Additionally, their focus extends to the methodology of legal and social research, public law, state formation, international relations, constitutional interpretation, administrative discretion, and the Croatian legal system, particularly emphasizing the general principles of civil law and administrative law. Furthermore, they investigate topics pertaining to freedom of expression, such as religious law, academic law, public media law, and regulations concerning political parties.
