The Institute is dedicated to advancing scholarly and research efforts within civil law, publishing academic papers and hosting conferences in this field. It collaborates extensively with legal professionals, domestically and internationally, and offers legal opinions. The Institute was the initiator of the prestigious “Petar Simonetti (Ownership – Obligations – Procedure)” conference, and the members of the Institute have been actively involved in its organization for the past three decades, alongside other Institutes and Departments of the Faculty. Its core objectives include conducting scientific research, which involves monitoring and analyzing new legal regulations, fostering connections with judicial practice, disseminating research outcomes through publications and conference presentations, and integrating findings into educational programs. The Head of the Institute is Prof. Zvonimir Slakoper.
