The Institute for Public Administration is an organizational unit of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, established in 2023, with the goal of conducting scientific and professional activities in the field of administrative law and administration. Faculty members and associates from the Department of Administrative Law and the Department of Public Administration, along with judges of administrative courts, civil servants employed in state administration bodies, other state bodies, local and regional self-government bodies, and employees of public services, are actively involved in the work of the Institute. Together, they scientifically and professionally research and analyze current issues in the field of administrative law and administration.
The main goals of the Institute are:
- improvement of current solutions related to the organization of public administration, civil service legislation, the legality of administrative actions, conducting administrative procedures, concluding and executing administrative contracts, managing official records, citizens’ rights in dealings with administrative bodies, smart governance, etc.,
- scientific and professional development in the field of administrative law and administration,
- training and further development through lifelong learning programs,
- popularization of legal science in the community.
These goals are achieved by the Institute through the implementation of scientific and professional projects, publication of monographs and proceedings, organizing thematic conferences, seminars, forums, panel discussions, and round tables, preparing scientific and professional expertise (consulting services), conducting lifelong learning programs, and collaborating with public law bodies and civil society.
