The Petar Šarčević International Scientific Conference is organized biennially in honor of the esteemed jurist and scholar, Prof. Dr. Petar Šarčević, co-founder of the Yearbook of Private International Law. Speakers and participants of the conference are renowned legal experts, judges, and Advocates General of the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as legal practitioners.
This year’s conference is conducted in a hybrid format, allowing registered participants to join either online or onsite, while adhering strictly to COVID-19 pandemic safety measures. Participation in the conference is free of charge.
The Seventh Petar Šarčević International Scientific Conference focuses on consumer protection, particularly addressing issues of digital transformation and the enhanced enforcement and protection of consumer rights. As highlighted in the New Consumer Agenda and the recently adopted Digital Markets Act, adapting consumer rights and policies to the challenges of digital transformation is among the primary concerns of the new digital era.
