On Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10 to 12 h, we held a popular science workshop to mark World Consumer Rights Day. The workshop for children, titled Small consumer, standing tall – because I know it all!, aimed to help children—through games and a quiz—become aware that they themselves are consumers and to understand some of the fundamental rights they have as consumers.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ivana Kunda, Prof. Dr. Vlatka Butorac Malnar, and student Katarina Polonijo, the children discussed their role as consumers, analysed information and warnings found on various products and expressed their impressions through artwork which we presented at the instant onsite exhibition.
This science outreach activity took place at the Children’s House as part of an event organized by the Rijeka City Library, the Faculty of Mathematics in Rijeka, the Faculty of Law in Rijeka (Department of European and Comparative Law), and the Center for the Popularization and Promotion of Science of the University of Rijeka.
More information about the event itself is available here.
