2nd Rijeka Tax Law Day held at our Faculty, April 25th 2019
On April 25th 2019 our Faculty hosted the international colloquium titled „Tax law: recent developments from a comparative and EU perspective“, organized in co-operation with the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), Amsterdam. A number of topical international, comparative and EU tax law issues were explored by the speakers, including the taxation of digital economy, protection of taxpayers’ rights and new rules on mandatory disclosure of aggressive tax practices. We are particularly proud that this now traditional event contributes to the international debate on key tax issues, with the special aim to link theory with practice under the auspices of our Faculty.
Dean at the opening of the minorities' rights conference in Brussels
Dean Prof. Dr. Vesna Crnić-Grotić participated at the opening of the conference the European Regional Forum on Education, Languages and the Human Rights of Minorities, on 6-7 May 2019. held at the European Parliament in Brussels. The conference was organized by UN Special Rapporteur for Minority Rights and Tom Lantos Institute from Budapest. MOre information is available here. |
Participation at the HAZU roundtable on migrants
On 4 April 2019 in Zagreb, Prof. Dr. Vesna Crnić-Grotić and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivana Kunda participated at the roundtable titled “Status of Migrants in International and European Law” (“Položaj migranata u međunarodnom i europskom pravu“). This was the 51st roundtable organised by the Croatian Academy of Science and Art (HAZU, by Croatian acronym) within the series Modernisation of Law edited by Academic Jakša Barbić. This was the opportunity to discuss issues which have arisen in the aftermath of the migrant crisis in Europe which commenced in 2015.
Erasmus + Mobility Agreement signed with Marmara University in Istanbul (Turkey)
The University of Rijeka signed the Erasmus + Mobility Agreement with the Marmara University in Istanbul (Turkey) for the field of law, namely European legal studies. The agreement was signed for the period 2019 to 2021 and includes student mobility for the purposes of studies and teaching staff mobilty for teaching. Faculty of Law Rijeka has become UEFA partner in the prestigious educational program
A great achievement of the Rijeka Faculty of Law in the educational programmes has resulted in electing this higher educational institution as a UEFA partner in the performance of the prestigious UEFA Football Law Programme. It is an educational programme in the field of sports law in football and it is designed for legal specialists or senior executives working on legal issues in international and European national associations, football clubs, players’ unions, leagues and law firms.
Seven-digit contract signed for improving quality of studying
On Friday 22 March 2019 in the Great Hall of the Ministry of Science and Education in Zagreb the institution representatives gathered to sign contracts related to the call "Implementation of HKO at the level of high education" from the European Social Fund, the operating programme "Human Resources" 2014-2020. We are proud that the Faculty of Law in Rijeka will receive funds worth HRK 3.543.935,40 for the project Providentia Studiorum Iuris, which will be implemented in the next three years with the aim of improving the quality of studying at law faculties in Croatia.
European Parliament: Voice of Citizens in European Union
On 18 March at 10 hours at the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, a talk will be held concerning the European Parliament and the forthcoming elections. The guests are: Ivana Maletić, Member of the European Parliament, Jozo Radoš, Member of the European Parliament, Ivan Budisavljević and Matej Blažić, students of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, and the moderator is journalist Neven Šantić.
