Institute of Democracy, Social Justice, and Sustainable Development

The Institute operates in line with the university’s “third mission” in mind: socially responsible engagement in both the immediate and broader community. Its goals are to research, disseminate, and promote sustainable legal solutions to complex social issues within contemporary political communities. Specifically, it focuses on issues such as civic participation in governance, social justice, and sustainability, encompassing societal and environmental impacts. As a focused platform for scientific, professional, research, and public engagement, the Institute’s role is particularly significant in the context of interdisciplinary approaches, primarily within social sciences and humanities, but also across other fields. Its activities primarily involve conducting scientific research projects, producing scientific and professional expertise, organizing scientific conferences, roundtable discussions, and science popularization activities, as well as organizing and conducting lifelong learning programs and collaborating with public bodies and the non-profit sector, including religious communities.
