A delegation of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka visited the Faculty of Law of the University of Niš on 15 and 16 June 2026, where a series of activities aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of higher education were carried out.
On 15 June 2026, the Dean of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, Professor Dario Đerđa, PhD, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Niš, Professor Predrag Cvetković, PhD, signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two institutions. The Agreement represents an important step in the further development of the partnership and creates new opportunities for enhanced cooperation in scientific research, teaching activities, student and staff mobility, and the organisation of joint academic and professional events, particularly in relation to achieving the objectives of the EduLex project – Enhancing the Quality of the Regulatory Framework for Higher Education in the Republic of Croatia (uniri-mzi-25-36).
As part of the visit, a round table entitled “Enhancing the Quality of the Regulatory Framework for Higher Education in the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia” was held on 16 June 2026, bringing together academics and researchers from both faculties. The event was opened by the deans, Professor Predrag Cvetković, PhD, and Professor Dario Đerđa, PhD, who emphasised the importance of continuous dialogue and the exchange of experiences in the field of higher education.
The discussions focused on the historical development of higher education in Croatia and Serbia, law study programmes, systems of funding and accreditation of higher education institutions, and international cooperation. Participants from the Faculty of Law in Rijeka included Professor Željko Bartulović, PhD, Associate Professor Dana Dobrić Jambrović, PhD, Vice Dean for Professional Studies, and Associate Professor Stjepan Gadžo, PhD, Vice Dean for International Cooperation, alongside numerous colleagues from the Faculty of Law of the University of Niš.
These activities were carried out within the framework of the EduLex project – Enhancing the Quality of the Regulatory Framework for Higher Education in the Republic of Croatia (uniri-mzi-25-36), funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument. The project is dedicated to analysing and improving the regulatory framework governing higher education and fostering international cooperation and the exchange of best practices among higher education institutions.
The signing of the Cooperation Agreement and the organisation of the joint round table further strengthened the ties between the two law faculties, laying the foundations for future collaborative projects and activities that will benefit the academic staff, researchers, and students of both institutions.
